Why We Feature CELLER8

While most of the brands featured on this website have come through founder interviews with external PEMF companies, CELLER8 has been included because it is a major part of Andy’s, our hosts, own PEMF story. The brand was developed after years of distributing other PEMF systems through NewMed and seeing the same challenges come up again and again: devices that were too complicated, too limited, too expensive, too fragile, or too focused on one type of application.

CELLER8 was created to bring those lessons into one product range. The aim was to build PEMF devices that are simple to use, easy to understand, and flexible enough to support different application styles, including localised, full-body, pet and high-intensity PEMF.

We also want to be clear that CELLER8 is part of the wider NewMed and PEMF Podcast story. This page is included for transparency, education and product discovery, not because CELLER8 is the only PEMF option worth considering.

Podcast Episode With Andy Smith

For the 100th episode of The PEMF Podcast, Josh sat down with Andy Smith to explore his full story, the journey behind NewMed, the development of CELLER8 and the launch of The PEMF Podcast website.

In the episode, Andy explained how PEMF first entered his life after a serious personal health crisis, how that experience led to the creation of NewMed, and why he became focused on making PEMF more accessible in the UK.

The conversation also covered the development of CELLER8, including why the range was designed around simplicity, portability, copper coil design, full-body and localised application, and a smaller number of easy-to-understand programs rather than hundreds of confusing condition-specific settings. The episode is a useful starting point for anyone who wants to understand why CELLER8 exists, how it fits into the wider PEMF market, and why Andy believes education is just as important as the device itself.

About Andy Smith

Andy Smith is the founder of NewMed and CELLER8, and co-host of The PEMF Podcast. His journey into PEMF began after a serious abdominal infection and surgery left him struggling with recurring infection, prolonged antibiotic use and poor recovery. After being encouraged by his father to try PEMF, Andy used a German PEMF mat twice daily and became convinced that the technology deserved far more attention in the UK.

That experience eventually led to the creation of NewMed in 2014, originally as a UK distributor for PEMF devices from different manufacturers. Over time, Andy saw both the strengths and limitations of many different PEMF systems, which became the foundation for the CELLER8 range.

What makes Andy’s perspective different is that he has seen PEMF from several angles: as a user, distributor, manufacturer, podcast host and educator. CELLER8 is the result of that journey, combining practical product experience with the technical and educational insights gained from years in the PEMF industry.

About CELLER8

CELLER8 is the PEMF brand developed by Andy Smith and the team behind NewMed.

The brand came from more than a decade of working with PEMF devices, speaking to customers and seeing the same problems appear across the industry: confusing programs, unclear specifications, limited application options and products that were either too basic, too complicated or not transparent enough about how they worked.

Rather than creating a device around hundreds of condition-specific settings, CELLER8 was built around practical daily use. The focus is on clear programs, adjustable settings, full-body and localised application, and a design that allows people to use PEMF without needing to become technical experts first.

Things To Consider Before Buying

CELLER8 is best understood as a practical PEMF range rather than a condition-specific protocol system. The standard devices are built around daily use, time-of-day programs and flexible application, while the Max range sits in a different category for people looking at high-intensity PEMF.

This means CELLER8 may appeal more to users who want a simple, guided way to use PEMF consistently, rather than those looking for hundreds of pre-set condition programs or an app-based system with a large protocol library.

As with all PEMF devices, the best choice depends on your goals, budget, lifestyle and how consistently you are likely to use it.

Our Take

Our take is that CELLER8 deserves to be included on this website, but it also needs to be presented transparently. Unlike the other brands featured on The PEMF Podcast, CELLER8 is directly connected to Andy Smith, NewMed and the team behind the podcast. That connection should be clear, because this is not an outside brand we discovered through a guest interview. It is part of the same story that led to NewMed, the podcast and the wider push to improve PEMF education.

What stands out about CELLER8 is not that it tries to be the most complicated device on the market. In many ways, the opposite is true. The standard range is built around fewer programs, clearer use cases and a more straightforward approach to daily PEMF. The aim is to remove some of the confusion that often surrounds PEMF, while still giving users enough control to adjust their sessions.

For people comparing PEMF devices, CELLER8 is worth looking at because it reflects many of the principles we regularly discuss on the podcast: clear specifications, practical application, coil design, waveform, intensity range, usability and transparency. It will not be the right choice for everyone, but it is a brand that fits naturally within the wider educational mission of The PEMF Podcast.
